Give Hope - Busy Bags

If you have a toddler or have ever experienced a toddler you will fully understand how important a bag such as a "Busy Bag" is. :) These are the kinds of bags you pull out when you are going to be in the car for a while or going to an appointment of some kind and you need to be able to easily entertain your little ones.

Sometimes when a child comes into foster care, the transition time can be lengthy. They may have to sit at the Department's offices while necessary paperwork is completed or an available foster home is found for them. As you can imagine, this would be especially difficult with a busy and confused toddler. That's where the Busy Bags come in. These bags are designed to provide simple activities and distractions for these little ones.

The bags I've made can be created with as little as 3 Fat Quarters of fabric!
The fabric I've used here is one of the newest collections coming from Riley Blake Designs, "Pieces of Hope". Isn't that appropriate!? (more on this fabulous fabric collection to come!) :)

This is again a fast and fun to make project! And could easily be made and filled for less than $5. Plus, now the toddler has something to carry with them that is ALL theirs....which is especially important when your whole world has been turned upside down.
They can be filled with a variety of items like:
Crayons
Coloring Book
Sippy Cup
Stuffed Toy
Stickers
Individually Wrapped Snacks
Tissue/Wipes

Additionally, these could be made as simple totes for older children and teens as well just by adjusting the types of fabrics and items included. There's a really nice free tote tutorial at the Happy Zombie blog called "Poochie Bags" here you might like.

Busy Bags. A fun and easy way to Give Hope....and EVERYONE will thank you for them! ;)

Okay, so I have a linky party going on that is for back to school stuff and homeschool rooms but I would love for you to link this up as well. I think it would be neat if other homeschooling moms saw this project and planned the same idea or something similar into their school years.
